The Fifth and Sixth Corps, which had been on their way as reinforcements, came rushing in to fill the gap left by the collapse of Hethos's First Corps.

The two corps had a somewhat heavier concentration of mages than the First Corps. With no fewer than fifty fourth-tier or higher mages in each corps, they immediately moved to shore up the collapsing defensive line.

First, they began reorganizing the defensive line around the border between the East and the Center, where the fortress had once stood.

They were prepared to give up all the territory they had gained if necessary, so long as they could establish a defensive line.
