At last!

It was the morning of the opening ceremony!

I checked my appearance in the mirror in our hotel room.

The black sailor uniform I always wear for formal occasions.

It was dark-toned enough to suit the academic atmosphere, while the enormous ribbon added a single spoonful of lethal cuteness. It was one of my favorite outfits.

I straightened the collar of my sailor uniform and pulled the red scarf taut with both hands—tug-tug-.

Dad gently brushed my hair smooth from behind me—swish-swish-.

There, all done.

“How do I look? Cute?”

“Very cute. Just like my daughter.”...
