Yang Juhee had said she was swamped during the first week after her shop opened. I used to visit often too, but there were so many customers I sometimes had to turn back because I couldn't even find room to step inside.

By 9 p.m., they finally had a little breathing room, so closing up and locking the doors was part of the routine.

“That weird customer always shows up right at 9 o'clock, when I'm trying to close the shop. The problem is, I definitely cut her hair into a bob, but by the next day it's grown long again.”

One day, Yang Juhee had taken in a tall, slender woman as a customer.

Apparently she wore a trench coat even in the sweltering summer. The strangest thing was that even after Juhee cut her hair into a bob, she'd show up the next day with long hair again.

“Weird, huh?”

“I don't think ‘weird’ is enough to describe it.”

She didn't seem human.

A ghost, maybe. I waited with Juhee until 9 o'clock. Sure enough, as the customers trickled out and the shop grew quiet, someone approached Juhee while she was sweeping up the hair...
