I paused my work. At Set's message saying it wanted an essence, I quietly closed my eyes.

It suddenly occurred to me why Set wanted an essence.

I'd been wondering about it for a while. The system classified 'Superior Pygmies' as A- to S-rank, so wouldn't a top-grade one naturally be stronger than that?

Of course, it wasn't weak even now, but it was true that it wasn't living up to my expectations.

Only one thing came to mind.

'Essence deficiency.'

...Since a top-grade Pygmy had been born from a superior essence, it was only natural that it might be lacking a sacrifice. It was probably suffering from the same symptoms I had.

After some thought, I finished what I was making as an ordinary mid-grade Pygmy for now.

Should I strengthen the Pygmy I already had, or add a new S-rank Pygmy...
