Chapter 31: Zergah

The carriage rolled on and on until we finally reached the outskirts of a city that looked like Zergah.

The sun was setting, its light stretching long across the sky, and the city walls made a beautiful sight as they caught the glow.

Farther from the city, I could see rows of tents beneath flags bearing the Empire's lion, fluttering in the wind.

Just looking at them, it was clear what we had to conquer.

We approached the encampment, and as we drew closer, the carriage gradually slowed down.

Once it came to a complete stop, the driver went over to several soldiers outside, spoke with them, then opened the carriage door.

"We've arrived. Saintess and members of her party, the soldiers here will guide you from this point on."

The soldier the driver introduced us to looked so stiff that his nervousness was obvious.

"It's an honor to meet you. I'll escort you to where Count Vollinea is staying."

It was understandable, considering he was meeting a Saintess chosen by a god, but he seemed far too nervous...
