Chapter 32: Zergah (Chris's POV)

"Karin, are you all right?"

"Hah... hah... I can move, at least... You should go, too."

She gritted her teeth and insisted she was fine, but anyone could see that Karin looked terrible.

"I'll stay with her, too, so please go with Lady Aria, big brother."

I was terribly worried about Karin, who was once again ignoring her own condition. But Maria was with her, and Karin had promised not to overdo it anymore, so I wanted to trust her.

"All right. I'm counting on you, Maria."

I couldn't bring myself to leave, but this was also the last chance to retake Zergah that Karin had created for us. I couldn't let it slip away.

"Lady Aria, let's finish this quickly and get back."

Nod.

When she was with Lady Stella, she often responded, but now she was taciturn unless the subject was food...
