At first, the Lich had spouted fierce, arrogant words, but after Maria kept 'gently stroking' it with her mace, brimming with divine power, it was now begging for mercy.
Perhaps because it was undead, it was clearly vulnerable to divine power.
There were two things we wanted to learn through this torture, as well as how to deal with a Lich that wouldn’t die.
First, the most accurate possible count and locations of the demons’ forces.
Second, why they’d gone out of their way to claim that the Demon King would be resurrected through undead incapable of even thinking.
Third, we wanted to instill fear in the Lich, which wouldn’t die unless its life vessel was destroyed, so it would dread being captured and tortured like this again.
But even after all that torture, the Lich remained tight-lipped.
