At first, I was horrified and tried to refuse, bringing up what I'd done at Zerga. But after listening to Uncle's explanation and testing it in the backyard, I eventually agreed.
What I'd done at Zerga was clear out a packed space as if a sinkhole had opened, then make the fortress wall collapse downward.
Uncle said that removing the existing ground meant having the spirits move it somewhere else, so of course it took a lot of mana.
By contrast, the task I was doing now didn't take much mana if I used the surrounding stones and soil.
And most importantly, as long as I didn't use an enormous amount of mana all at once, it shouldn't hurt that much...
