“This way.”

Rebecca took us to a fairly large bar at the very end of Alley 8.

At the entrance, two burly bouncers with fierce expressions stood with their arms crossed, glaring sharply around them, while young women in revealing outfits drifted in and out with their arms linked through those of middle-aged men who each looked quite well-off.

“Are you crazy?”

I hurriedly caught Rebecca by the elbow and stopped her as she tried to move forward as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

In the dark alley about twenty paces from the bar entrance, she suddenly stopped and looked back at me in puzzlement.

“Why?”

“Whyyy? You seriously have to ask me that right now?”
