I'll Be Watching!

The noisy bar I was setting foot in for the first time in my life was far more chaotic and raucous than I’d expected.

“Kairos, can you see where Rebecca is?”

“No, I can’t see her very well either.”

We had followed orders and gone up to the dining area on the second floor, but for some reason, Rebecca was nowhere to be seen.

Even after I tried signaling her once more through the communication mana crystal in my ear, no response was forthcoming, perhaps because there were too many obstacles inside the bar.

“What do you want to do, Kairos?”

“I’m not sure….”

Kairos briefly looked around at the tables nearby.

“Shouldn’t we go back down to the first floor for now?”

He turned back to me and continued...
