Let's Make Seafood Stew!

I looked at the ingredients that would become today's daily provisions.

Goose barnacles and freshwater shrimp, thoroughly cleaned under running water.

And the main ingredient, the octopus.

Set out like this, it was so lavish that I almost wondered whether this really was a deserted island.

‘I should have saved the abalone.’

If we'd added abalone too, we could have created a truly legendary seafood stew.

What a shame. Tsk.

I put the goose barnacles and freshwater shrimp into an earthenware pot filled with water, then cut the octopus into pieces separately.

It was too large to put in whole.
