So Damn Expensive!

Xia Lu and Yu Kui were silently competing to see who could keep her eyes open longer. In the end, Yu Kui won.

“I’m never competing with you again, meow!” Xia Lu rubbed her aching eyes and said firmly, looking at Yu Kui.

Mo Xi, dining nearby, watched them and shook her head helplessly before continuing to enjoy her meal.

Although Xia Lu had a serious drinking problem, her cooking more than made up for it. Mo Xi felt her restaurant would do quite well if Xia Lu could break the habit of frequently closing up to recover from a hangover.

“Speaking of which, have you paid this month’s rent?” Mo Xi suddenly asked.

Xia Lu paused while rubbing her eyes, then proudly puffed out her chest. “I paid it at the start of the month, meow.”

Mo Xi: “Fair enough.”
