The Emperor and Roa (2): Lulria's Reply

“Actually, I want Rudek and the Empire to form an alliance. Would you help us?”

“Hm? Sure.”

“I was going to explain everything first... Wait, really?”

As we sat around the table with the potage, Lulria answered without a moment's hesitation.

“Of course, I'll hear you out, but I have no reason to refuse, do I?”

“Is that so? It might be better for the Empire not to join forces with Rudek, though.”

“The Empire is the Empire, and I am me. I like Rudek, and I have friends there. I'd be happy if Greedle and Rudek got along. Besides, Rudek is one of my homeland's best customers.”

That was a very Lulria-like way of thinking.

“Will you help persuade Prince Tsetsiedra, too?” Lapilia asked. “I don't think there's any need to persuade him,” Lulria replied.

“Because I owe Roa?”...
