The first things I noticed when I entered the room were a simple wooden desk and chair. There was a dresser against the wall, and a curtained glass window at the far end. The room stretched out to the left, with a bed in the far-left corner.
It was a simple room, but it seemed to have all the essentials. It wasn't spacious, but it was more than enough for one person to live in.
"Anne and Evan, what do you think of this building?"
"Yes. I think it's a very comfortable place to live. The rooms are laid out much like the ones we lived in at the ducal estate, so I feel right at home. And if it has baths and flush toilets, I have no complaints at all."
"I feel the same way. I'm very grateful that it has baths. The dining hall is spacious, too, and I think we could all gather there to talk things over."
They both seemed to like it. I couldn't think of a single thing wrong with this building. Maybe we should just settle on it now.
"This building really is great. Roger, what is the other one like?"
"Yes. The other building was previously used as an apartment building. It had grown quite old, and it seems the person managing it chose not to repair it and continue maintaining it. The residents were asked to move out, and the building is now for sale. That said, it's very cheap, and the building itself is free. Its advantages are the low cost and the fact that, if we demolish it, we can build whatever we like from scratch."
Well... I think this settles it. We don't have time to build something from scratch, and I have no complaints about this place. Besides, if we did build from scratch, we'd probably make something just like this anyway.
"I think this building is great, and rebuilding from scratch would take a long time, so I think we should go with this one. Are you both okay with that?"...
