Summer Vacation Memories

The day after I met Tino.

Today, I had a tea party planned with Martine and the others. Since it was also going to be a lunch gathering, Martine and Stefan were expected to arrive before noon.

Lucien and I were already in the sitting room, talking while we waited for them. The two of us were alone in the room.

"What did you do over summer break, Lucien?"

"Mostly training and studying. I did meet up with Stefan and the others a few times, though. I also saw some of my other friends. Other than that, I attended a few gatherings for nobles."

"Gatherings for nobles?"

"Yes. They're like tea parties attended by people of around the same age and rank. They say the purpose is to build friendly relations, but in reality, they're mostly for finding prospective spouses."

"I didn't know gatherings like that existed..."

We were only ten, and people were already looking for fiancés. Nobles had it rough.

"Do you have a fiancée, Lucien?"...
