After seeing the soldiers off as they headed toward the valley, I too left Calrus Fortress and traveled east by carriage.
I was going to settle things with the merchants, but instead of heading straight to the city, I took a detour to Karesa Monastery.
"So this is Karesa Monastery."
It was my first visit, but it was a beautiful place.
A small monastery stood beside a lake. There was a small field, a single livestock shed, and a large tree firmly rooted in the ground, with a rope swing hanging from it.
Everything was exactly as I had heard.
Although it was my first visit, a feeling akin to nostalgia welled up in my chest.
I let myself bask in that sweet rapture for a while, then looked around again after savoring it to the fullest.
Karesa Monastery was a small monastery in a remote region. Until recently, even the people living in the area barely knew its name; it had been a completely obscure place.
Yet in front of the monastery's small building, residents from the surrounding area had formed a line that stretched a long way...
