Vol. 10 Ch. 1: Fun Winter Break Plans

Felix sat on the sofa in his dormitory room, polishing a pocket watch. The custom-made watch was decorated with the royal crest in silverwork.

Yet what mattered to Felix was neither the royal crest nor the watch's function.

After closing the watch's open lid once, Felix twisted the bottom of the pocket watch slightly. When he opened the lid again, another dial hidden beneath the face came into view.

A large aquamarine was set into the dial, with a magical formula signifying a contract with a spirit engraved around it. This was proof of his contract with Wyrdiane, the spirit with whom he had contracted.

Aquamarine itself was not a rare stone, but the deeper its blue, the more expensive it was said to be. The aquamarine in Felix's possession was a shade of blue worthy of being called the finest quality.

This aquamarine had once been part of a certain noblewoman's necklace. The noblewoman who wore it was said to have beautiful blue eyes, just like the aquamarine.

Felix did not know much about that noblewoman, but he knew of a pair of beautiful blue eyes that rivaled hers.

──Though he would never be able to see that shade of blue again.

With a snap, Felix closed the pocket watch's lid, and Will, who had been sorting the mail, spoke hesitantly.
