Vol. 10 Ch. 12: What the Puppet Thinks at Death's Door

Felix slung his hunting rifle over his shoulder and raced down the road at night. He had wanted to bring a horse, but he saw a stable hand in the stable and gave up on the idea.

What he was about to do could not be seen by anyone else.

"Will, where is the cursed dragon?"

At Felix's words, Will, disguised as a lizard, poked his head out of Felix's breast pocket and answered apologetically.

"North-northeast. The distance is... I'm sorry, I still can't determine it precisely."

"I see. Let me know as soon as you do."

Will's detection abilities were not particularly strong, so he could only determine the general direction. Even so, given the cursed dragon's enormous size, it should be visible once they got close enough.

Felix moved while taking care to remain downwind of the cursed dragon. If he was going to shoot, he wanted to find a place with a decent amount of elevation.

After running for a short while, he found a moderately high hill. The trees growing there were just dense enough to hide his figure, and the darkness of night would help as well.
