Vol. 10 Ch. 11: The Approaching Threat

Glenn, who had been carried into one of the rooms in the ducal residence, was still unconscious.

The black shadow clinging to his entire body had stopped moving after the green dragon—the source of the curse—was defeated, but it had not disappeared completely. It remained all over Glenn's body like a mass of bruises, as though a giant serpent were coiled around him.

Glenn occasionally let out a groan of pain, but even those groans were faint. It was obvious to anyone that the flame of his life was on the verge of going out.

The only ones in the room besides Glenn were Monica and Nero. Since there was still a possibility that the curse remaining inside Glenn might begin moving and attack a human, servants were forbidden from entering or leaving.

Monica observed the shadow remaining on Glenn's body and murmured quietly.

"...Nero. You heard the green dragon-san's final words too, right?"

"Yeah."

Higher-order dragons understood "words." However, due to the structure of their vocal organs, it was difficult for them to speak human languages, so most dragons spoke the same language as spirits.

Monica had studied the spirit language while she was at Minerva, so she could understand simple words.
