Vol. 12 Ch. 1: Dear My Eternal Rival

On the day before winter break ended at Serendia Academy, Monica met Isabelle in a town halfway between the royal capital and Count Kerbeck's territory, and the two set off for Serendia Academy.

Since Monica was supposed to have accompanied Isabelle home during winter break, it would look suspicious if they did not return to the dormitory in the same carriage.

When Monica climbed into the Count Kerbeck family's carriage, Isabelle, who was already inside, wrapped her arms tightly around Monica's neck.

"Sister Monicaaaa! I've missed you so much! I heard that just last month, you defeated Lainburg's cursed dragon together with Prince Felix! As expected... as expected of you, Sister Monica! I couldn't be prouder!"

Agatha, Isabelle's maid, leisurely tried to rein in the excited girl.

"My lady, my lady, the coachman can't set off while you're clinging to her like that."

Chastened by Agatha's admonishment, Isabelle bashfully took her seat. Even so, she continued clutching Monica's right arm, so Monica inevitably ended up sitting beside her.

Once the carriage began rolling slowly, Isabelle asked Monica all sorts of questions about defeating the cursed dragon—how large it had been, how they had defeated it, and so on.

As Monica floundered under this barrage of questions, Agatha cautiously interrupted.

"My lady, perhaps you should tell Sister Monica about what happened the other day?"...
