Having discussed what to do about Caroline with the teachers, Felix headed straight to the infirmary, but Monica was nowhere to be found. Apparently, she had returned to her dorm room.
Felix wondered whether she had made it back to the dorm safely, but Claudia had been with her, so she surely would not have pushed Monica too hard. Come to think of it, that little squirrel apparently lived in an attic room. Apparently, Lady Kelbeck had arranged for her to live there.
(I had actually wanted to warn Lady Isabelle not to bully the little squirrel too much.)
If he asked Isabelle why she bullied Monica, he would be poking his nose into House Kelbeck's internal affairs. House Kelbeck was a major noble house aligned with the neutral faction. It would not be wise for Felix, the Second Prince, to meddle there carelessly.
Well, if Monica was crying because Lady Isabelle bullied her, he could simply pamper her enough to make up for it.
Having an obvious bully around made it easier to tame that little squirrel.
(At first, I had hoped Cyril would take on that role, but... he's been rather soft on Miss Norton lately.)
Felix did not know what had caused the change in Cyril's feelings, but when it came time to carry Monica to the infirmary, Cyril had been the first one to scoop her up... though he had eventually run out of strength.
Perhaps Cyril thought of Monica as a little sister. After all, his actual little sister, Claudia, was... well, Claudia.
Remembering the mismatched siblings' interactions, Felix chuckled and closed the door to his room with a click. Then a white lizard slipped smoothly out of his breast pocket...
