Celebrating His Wife’s Birthday

“I haven’t made a wish yet.” Chen Ju lay on the bed and murmured softly. He closed his eyes, hoping to return to the dream, but it was no use. Once a dream was over, it was over.

After lingering in bed for a while, Chen Ju finally got up and walked out of the bedroom. When the housekeeper saw him, she brought out the reheated nourishing soup and greeted him. “Mr. Chen, have some soup after you’ve washed up.”

“Okay, thanks.” The tips of Chen Ju’s ears burned. The housekeeper must have seen him sitting in Jiang Zhou’s arms last night. Thinking of that, he didn’t dare look at her again.

After finishing the nourishing soup, Chen Ju felt warm all over and pleasantly full. The housekeeper brought out a plate of vegetables and meat, along with a glass of green juice.

“Once you’ve finished the soup, Mr. Chen, have these too,” the housekeeper said with a smile. “They’re good for your health.”

Chen Ju stared at the plate and couldn’t help burping. He asked awkwardly, “Could I skip this? I’m already full.”

“Nope.” The housekeeper removed the soup bowl from in front of Chen Ju and set down the plate. “The young master told me to make sure you finish everything, Mr. Chen. Please don’t make things difficult for me.”

Since the housekeeper had put it that way, Chen Ju knew Jiang Zhou’s temper. If he didn’t behave and do as he was told, the housekeeper would get dragged into it too.

It was delicious, but his stomach couldn’t handle eating so much.
