Butchering

We'd taken down a giant kraken in a lake as large as Lake Biwa.

Squid are sea creatures, so they don't live in freshwater—but this is another world, where all sorts of creatures defy common sense.

It was far too big to fit in my Item Box, so we cut it into several pieces and stored them separately.

We returned to shore, where the people who'd stayed behind greeted us. After a light meal, we got to work butchering it.

When I took the kraken's corpse out of my Item Box, the crowd of onlookers let out a roar.

"Whoa!"

"Aaaagh!"

Amid the cheers, I heard a few screams for some reason.

The beastfolk workers were the ones screaming, their tails puffed up.

Even the hulking beastfolk men had their tails puffed up...
