The First Five-Year Plan

I modified the boat and headed for the Anis River, which runs across the country.

My main objective was to capture a live slime for research, but I also wanted to see the Great Wetlands, where the Anis River flows, with my own eyes.

When I saw the Great Wetlands in person, I found a vast river winding and twisting endlessly like a snake.

If we were to use it as a canal, I felt it would be quite difficult to sail upstream.

It would be difficult with the technology this world currently had, but what about using a motor powered by a golem core?

Maybe because core motors run on magic, they have incredible torque.

If it had enough power to run the huge saw at the sawmill, it should be able to turn a ship's propeller, too.

We could normally travel under sail, then use the core motor in difficult stretches.

That seemed like it might work, but we'd first need to build a small experimental boat and run repeated tests.
