The grounds for the merfolk's rebellion were threefold.

The first reason was the appearance of the burned prophecy book.

The prophecy book that had surely turned to ash in the Crown Prince's hand...

For some unknown reason, it had reappeared in the place where it had always been, as if nothing had happened.

The only unusual thing was that, unlike before, it looked extremely old.

Talassa Nereus paid it little mind and examined the prophecy book,

where a prophecy detailing the Empire's destruction was written.

"The first wave shall swallow the east, the second wave shall swallow the center, and the third wave shall cover the Empire."

A prophecy that the merfolk kingdom would destroy the Empire.
