The onslaught unleashed by Divald after he began using his magic eyes was nothing short of ferocious. His blows were as heavy and sharp as ever, but if we let our guard down, his magic eyes would inflict damage or status ailments on us.
Each magic eye on Divald's fingertips wielded a different power. The magic eye on his thumb was the Poison Magic Eye. When its pupil glowed purple while it had someone in its sights, that person would suffer the poison status ailment. Having our health gradually whittled down while facing such a powerful enemy was more nerve-racking than I had expected.
The magic eye on his index finger was the Flame Magic Eye. Flames spurted from it like a flamethrower, making it the most flamboyant of his magic eyes. This was the magic eye that had struck Nenashi head-on and sent him tumbling.
Although it had the highest direct attack power, its flamboyance also made it easy to evade. If I were in Jigoro's avatar, I could take the hit without a problem.
The magic eye on his middle finger was the Paralysis Magic Eye. It seemed to use the same system as the Poison Magic Eye: when it emitted an ocher light, the person being watched would suddenly become completely unable to move.
Unlike the Flame Magic Eye, it had no direct attack power, but it left us defenseless against Divald's blows, making it extremely dangerous. This was the magic eye we were watching most carefully.
The magic eye on his ring finger was the Water-Ice Magic Eye. Apparently, it dealt Water-element damage through cold air. It was the magic eye that had frozen Iris and caused the chill that had run down my back.
Under normal circumstances, Water-element damage had been Jigoro's weakness, but my sibling had overcome it by using low-powered talismans made with 【Talisman Arts】. For me, it was the magic eye I could ignore second only to the Flame Magic Eye.
Finally, the magic eye on his little finger was the Sleep Magic Eye. When its pupil shone a bluish white, an intense drowsiness would suddenly overcome us. It was dangerous as well, but its effects took hold more slowly than paralysis, so we could break them by hurriedly slapping our own faces. However, if we let our guard down and fell asleep, the next damage we took would be multiplied several times over, so we absolutely could not sleep.
Divald had these five types of magic eyes on the fingers of both hands, and he attacked us while deftly moving his eyeballs to keep us in sight. Watching eyes move at that speed would make anyone sick, but... he was a Heroic Spirit, so I suppose it did not matter to him...
