Although we encountered an unexpected problem, we spent the time until it was almost convenient to log out attacking the groups of monsters that had claimed the various rocky outcrops as their territory. The rocky outcrops were home to more than just Seacats; all sorts of different monsters lived there.

There were Flying Sardines, which used large fins resembling bird wings to fly in tornado-like formations over the rocky outcrops, and their higher-level variant, the Flying Copper Sardine, whose bodies had a faint reddish-bronze tint. There were Floating New Moon Jellyfish, which drifted about harmlessly but paralyzed anyone who carelessly approached them with their tentacles, and their larger higher-level variant, the Floating Crescent Jellyfish. There were also Submersible Shipbugs, which fled into the sea whenever we approached. The rocky outcrops were home to a wide variety of weak monsters.

The most dangerous of them all, however, was the Predator Seaweed. It was a plant-type monster that tried to drag creatures flying near the surface underwater and use them as nourishment, and its pulling strength was considerable. Unbelievably, it actually dragged Kal underwater.

Fortunately, I hurriedly dove into the sea and severed it with my great scythe, but the experience made me realize that we must never underestimate the ocean. Considering that Ann and the others used that ocean as their primary hunting ground, I was impressed all over again.

"The items weren't much, but they were just the right opponents for gaining experience. More importantly, is it tasty?"...
