The Remaining Two

For the time being, I left Egor and Jack waiting in the Dwarven Village and returned to the city of Babel, where Guild Headquarters was located.

If I brought those two along, they would realize that the Council was trying to gather the SS-rank adventurers. It would be a real nuisance if they took countermeasures or forced my inquiry through.

With Fiene serving as an Imperial ambassador, the Council had not yet proceeded with the inquiry. They would probably keep up the pretense that they had merely been discussing things with the Imperial ambassador.

However, we had already held discussions several times. There wasn't much time left.

I had to find the remaining two in that short time.

Disguised as an inconspicuous civilian with illusion magic, I entered the luxury inn where Fiene was staying through the front entrance.

The Imperial Guards, disguised as civilians, looked my way.

"I wish to see Miss Fiene."

Once I showed them my Silver identity, the Imperial Guards headed for the room in back as if they understood.
