Chapter 69. Unintentional Farce (1)

About five weeks ago.

The most essential step in dealing with a difficult enemy is, of course, intelligence gathering.

Intelligence is always important, but it becomes especially crucial in situations like this.

Unlike the Empire, which declared war and attacked head-on, the Holy Nation employed insidious backhanded tactics. They secretly contacted the Royal Family, plotted their escape, and even infiltrated our land with their Army.

In ways that weren't readily apparent, but would be troublesome if discovered.

'What is their objective?'

We had to find out why they had to resort to such measures.

What Special Interest or strategic objective made them target us? Why did they provoke a lion, knowing they were clearly inferior in terms of national power and military strength?

Even if we couldn't uncover their objective, discovering their weaknesses or secrets would be beneficial. If we could obtain leverage to pressure the Holy Nation, we wouldn't have to waste national power on skirmishes.

However, since it was the kind of secret not easily obtainable from the outside…...
