An Old Country Bumpkin Pays a Visit

“Come on, what are you standing around for?”

I stood for a moment, captivated by the mansion’s size and appearance, until Lucy, who had already passed through the gate, called out to me.

“Sorry. I was just thinking how big it is.”

The word “guest” had caught my attention, but I’d probably find out what that was about soon enough. There was no point asking her about it now.

It was true that I was surprised by the mansion’s exterior, at any rate. I decided to use that as a convenient excuse and answer Lucy.

“Heh heh, it is, isn’t it? Though, even so, I only use a few of the rooms.”

She accepted my answer and spoke with a pleased expression, though it was tinged with a slight, wry smile.

Well, with a mansion this big, even with Lucy, Myui, and the servants living here, there was no way they could use it all.

“I’m looking for a place too, but it’s hard to find somewhere affordable and convenient.”
