An Old Country Bumpkin Returns to the Order's Headquarters

How long had we been walking?

It felt like we’d spent quite a while traveling. Fissel and I were used to it, so we were fine, but Bishop Levios was already pretty winded. Though, to be fair, he didn’t exactly look like someone who exercised regularly.

“Sensei, we’ve been waiting for you.”

“Allucia? You’re here?”

And so, we arrived at the Rebellio Order of Knights’ headquarters.

The one who greeted us wasn’t one of the knights on night watch, but the Order’s commander, Allucia.

The unexpected sight made my voice rise a little.

Normally, it was long past the time she’d have gone home. And yet she’d said she’d been waiting for me. Had they been expecting my arrival? They’d even sent Kurni and Fissel, so had they already factored all of this in?

That meant Lucy and Ibroi’s plan had been known to Allucia, too.

Things had worked out in the end, but what would they have done if I’d failed...
